I used this company to move my deceased fasther's estate -XXXI was under sudden pressure to do so, and had to make quick decisions...I agreed to this company because of the price (NOT WORTH THE $200.00 I saved). I knew nothing about state-to-state moves, and was certainly NOT informed of any details by Rachael (who took my credit card information quickly enough, but never responded to a single subsequent question. I never heard from her again. I had to leave half of the estate items because there was not enough cubic feet allowed, and I had not been able to take a full inventory of the items due to the circumstances. Had I been fully informed of the procedure, I would have made a different decision. As it stands I have to go back -XXX6 hr. Round trip -XXXpack the remainder of the estate...I wanted it done in one trip and was paying more for that reason alone.
I never received a detailed contract, and was informed upon the team's arrival that I had to purchase 20 rolls of tape at $3.00/roll. I was never informed that items went to a warehouse first. I was never informed that they would take my money, then hold my items in a warehouse 4 hrs. away until they decided to deliver. Each day I called for an update i was informed I would be updated the following day. Of course, I had to call them each day. I travel for work, and would NEVER have paid for this service had I realized I was at their mercy. I was laughed at on the phone by "dispatcher" Mary. I never was able to reach Rachael again. I left voice messages for "Manager Diana" that were never returned. I explained that I was under duress from the death of my father and the stress of having to empty his house and move his contents quickly. I feel I was preyed upon by this company.
I had not done my homework (due to the above reasons), but after Best Price Movers were in possession of my items and money, I found this site and realized I had made a horrible mistake based on the reviews. (Of note, the reviews have changed from 1 star to higher star ratings within 3 days -XXXI have a hard time believing the authenticity of the positive reviews). One review even referenced a Cook County class action lawsuit being considered against this comany.
I did receive my items yesterday, but EVERY SINGLE BOX HAS BEEN CRUSHED. My father was a country singer, and most of the items were of historical and sentimental value. I assumed if I paid more (than moving myself with friends and a truck) that professional movers would be the way to go. I have never been so wrong. Serious painful and exoensive life lesson.
