After contacting several moving companies, both large and small, we decided to go with Mars Van Lines for a variety of reasons. First, the larger well known names were condiderably more expensive, anywhere from $500 to $1500 more. In additions they used and charged an additional shuttle fee of $250 when their large 53 ft trucks couldn't fit in the community. Once we decided to use a smaller local type of mover we encountered the usual range of vague quotes, delivery times, etc. In speaking to Roxy and Tom we were given a firm and better then competitive rate per pound, informed of all additional costs should we use those services, (ie packing) and givern a delivery windowof 3-5 business days. They picked up on Tuesday and delivered on Wednesday. The driver did ask for the money prior to unpacking, but since we were paying in cash that is a standard practice. The final and determining reason why we choses Mars was because they were a member of the BBB and had a satisfactory record with that agency, many of the others that we looked at were either not a member or had an unsatisfactory rating.
