These movers almost tripled the price from the estimate of $350 by adding on additional inflated charges like number of rolls of tape used, rental of blankets, etc. They refused to unload unless I paid the new bill of $917 in cash. I was stunned - my wife was crying, my kids were watching this whole fiasco play out in front of our new neighbors. I called the police and when the foreman showed the contract I signed - it showed an estimated of $975 and he told the police officer I was aware of the estimated price - but I am telling you and I told the police officer - that the estimated price of $975 on the estimate was not there - he filled it in later, after I had signed it. The foreman agreed to accept $800. Now I had $350 in cash but had to borrow $400 from a neighbor and used the tip money I was going to give the workers to make up the $800. They unloaded and left without leaving a receipt. These people are criminals. One of the movers told me they had the police called on them the day before - this is their thing - to rip people off.
