Such a Scam

The company estimated a move price of goods from Seattle, WA to Palatine, IL at $2220. The entire move was unprofessional. Two unclean men arrived to pack up my apartment, taking 7 hours to pack a one bedroom apartment. The sales agent had not given the movers my destination address or the stop off address to further items to be loaded. I was also told by the movers that bags were not allowed to be taken, therefore forcing me to buy boxes from the movers at a higher rate than sold in local stores. Also, I was told by the movers liquids were not allowed. After numerous un-returned phone calls to both the company dispatch center and my sales person, my items arrived almost 30 days later. However, boxes were wet, falling apart, and some were missing completely. Missing items include a queen box spring and two boxes of personal items. Glass bowls and coffee cups were broken and they even managed to break a rolling tool cabinet made of solid steel. In addition to all of the items missing and broken, unreturned phone calls and emails, the new total amount for the move was $3700. When I emailed my sales rep and asked if he could show me where on the contract it mentioned the 3% credit card surcharge and why I had all these extra charges, I received no response. Additional fees I incured were elevator charge, flight of stairs charge, credit card surcharge, and additional packing supplies. As someone who moves often, take it from me... DO IT YOURSELF OR HIRE ANOTHER COMPANY. This company is a sham, no effort was made to right the wrongs they did.
