3 days prior to move I received an email to contact them immediately, left a message early morning and never heard back. Called again mid afternoon and got transferred several times. Finally got 'Mike' and told him my story - I made it well known the move needed to happen on Friday August 7th and was being told it would not and they wanted to do the pick up on Thursday August 6th - Mike said he would look into it and call me back. I never got a call back and I called again the next morning only to have to tell my story yet again. I demanded the manager call me back and he did several hours later and said they could not do my move for the originally quoted price as this was now being considered an 'expedited' move - estimate went from $1500 to $3100 and they then agreed to do the move on Friday the 7th. Manager called back later that day and said they really needed to do the pick up on Thursday so I agreed to 7:00pm. On my way home Wednesday I got a call from the driver who said he could NOT do the move Thursday night could he do it Friday morning - I became enraged and said absolutely not and we agreed to 6:00pm. They showed up at 6:30 and they actually did a really nice job of packing the furniture. I gave them my certified check for 1/2 the balance due as specified in their quoted estimate. I received a call from the driver on Friday morning (day of the move) at 8:00am and he said his boss told him he could not accept the certified check - they needed ALL cash!!!!!!!!! Again, I became very upset but we managed to get the cash that would be needed upon delivery and we agreed to meet at the destination between 1:30 and 2:00pm that day. While driving to NY I received a call from the driver telling me they were stopped for not having 10 hours of rest and could not leave their current location until 12 midnight and the delivery would now not happen until Saturday August 8th. We met at the facility my Mom was moving to at 10:30am on Saturday, they set up her furniture, I got back my certified check and gave them all cash. I said since this was now NOT an expedited delivery was I going to get any $$$ back and he ignored me. Needless to say, this was the worst experience I have ever endured dealing with a supposedly 'Professional' company. American Moving Masters should be ashamed of themselves and quite frankly NOT be in business.
