Several months ago, we need to move my belongings from east to west coast. We found Coss State Moving LLC online and called this company to further verify their moving service and pricing.. During our conversation with them, their employee told me that: “everything will be weighted before it gets onto the truck…”. “The price would be based on the actual weight…” So, I decided to hire them. When I am ready, they sent 3 employees ( three male) came to my home to pick up my belongs. Without weight my belongings, the lead employee said the moving cost is $3,000 because the total weight to be 4,000 pounds. He then asked to sign documents with this pricing. I questioned him about the estimation, in his explanation, he said that “how can I make money if it is less than 3000 lbs.” I denied his explanation and this estimation. After the mover asked Shlomo (the company owner) on the phone, he told me that Cross State Moving can move my belongs with $2,400 which is the price for 3000 lbs. So we agreed and signed on the moving documents.. After moving my belongings to the truck, they invited me to follow them to the weight station 10 minutes away from my home. However, they did not explain the weight procedure to me. Neither did them let me see how exactly they measured the truck. So, I was not aware of whether there are any other materials which are not belongs to me has been measured. After they claimed the weighting was finished, I was not given any document about the weight. The mover told me that the total weight of my belongs was actually a little less than the estimated 3,000 pounds but the price would be close to $2900. As we agreed during my consulting with your employee on the phone, the cost should be based on the actual weight. I called Shlomo (he call himself Sam) about the pricing issue immediately. Shloomo told me on the phone that your price can only increase because of extra weight but cannot decrease because of less weight. Shlomo also said loudly in the phone: “…If you ask me to move just a sofa, will I do this business? No! The fixed cost is too low for this moving!...” Since my belongings were already in his truck and I want them to be delivered on time without being damaged or stolen, I signed on the documents, which showed the total moving cost of $2,900 and I paid half of the total cost plus close to 10% tip in CASH as they said to me after load the furniture at the weight station. I was told to pay another half when my belongings unloaded at the destination. It turns out that only 1 of these 3 movers is the company’s employee. The other 2 probably only the contractors. Since that, my nightmare came. They never contacted us. Nor show us the truck’s weight. We keep calling; they keep saying “will deliver on time…” 4 weeks later, they told me the goods have not been shipped because I did not pay. I clarified with you that I already paid the first half. They suddenly bring up a different charge: almost $5000 !! They said that is because the total weight changed to 5,000 pounds!! Isn’t that robbery? I asked why all of a sudden, the total weight increased almost 2,000 pounds? Their explanation is that the first weight does not mean anything since there were other materials on the truck. The second weight when unloading is the correct weight. I do not believe your explanation and the second weight. If the first weight does not count, why was I lead to the weight station just after uploading? Also, they cannot verify the weight they claimed. After holding my belongings for 4 weeks, they asked me to pay based on weight that I never know where it came from. I refused to pay the Amount. Then this Shlomo (Sam) asked: “So, do you still want your furniture?” I understand this is threatening. So I made the claim that Cross State Moving cannot just hold my belongings and threaten me to pay what they asked for. 1 week later, they called me that the furniture is at my new location. I have to pay the driver. I soon found out that the driver was a subcontractor not Cross State Moving employee. I do not want this driver get in our dispute, so I paid him and took all my furnitures. Later I found out I lost 2 items. Looking back, they have cheated me in many other place.s. For example, they charged me over $500 for package and materials. I have all packed in cardboard boxes. What’s that for? My suggestion is that Never hire them. Never trust this Shlomo (Sam). He will cheat you and suck you dry!
