Horrible Nightmare!

We moved with MoveOurStuff.Com from Red Hook, NY to San Antonio, TX. We had agreed on a guaranteed estimate for our move from Red Hook, NY to San Antonio, TX, however, when the movers showed up and loaded the truck, they said we owed MORE. When we expressed our concerns with the crew leader of the 5-man team and Brian the estimator that this was a $725.20 increase from our guaranteed estimate, we were told that we had to pay the additional money because we had more household goods on our moving day than we had during our estimate (which was false), or they would unload our stuff off the truck and we could find another moving company. Due to our time constraint with the move, we agreed to pay the additional $725.20. Upon payment to the driver, we were informed we had to pay an additional 3% credit card transaction fee, which we were never told about; had we known about the fee, we would have paid cash. Furthermore, we did not hear from anyone regarding our move until I was called to inform me that our delivery was taking place that day and we needed to settle how we would be paying. I explained that my husband and I were both at work, and that no one had contacted us about our delivery happening that day; she was shocked and promised she would take care of everything. The next day, when the oversized moving truck arrived, the driver was unable to maneuver his truck into the apartment complex due to the size of his truck, which was larger than an eighteen-wheeler. The driver and helper came to an agreement with us to park on the street outside of the complex and transport the items by foot into our apartment; however, we would have to pay an additional $412.00 for the extra yards the movers would have to walk. But of even greater concern, once our household goods started coming off of the truck on November 18, 2011, we discovered that several of our personal belongings were damaged (SOAKING WET) due to a hole on the roof of the moving truck that transported our household goods from New York to Texas. According to the truck driver, they hit a rainstorm in Alabama, which meant our household goods were rained on due to the hole in the truck. One of the movers informed us that this happens every time it rains with this truck; the fact that a "reputable company" would know of a damaged truck and would continue to use it without concern to the items inside is disgusting. In addition to our household items being damaged, the new carpet of our apartment has black stains from the wet cardboard boxes. Besides monetary losses due to the water damage, many of the damaged items had sentimental value and are irreplaceable (wedding items, childhood mementos, and family pictures). Lastly, the move into our new apartment took over 10 hours, due to the fact that there was only one mover; once it became dark, we started driving our SUV to the moving truck to load up boxes to help expedite the move. We are still flabbergasted that you would send a five-man team to load our stuff in New York, but only a one-man team to unload our stuff in Texas. We have filed a claim with the company, opened a case with the BBB, and filed a formal complaint and there has been no resolution. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!!!
