Noah's Ark--worst experience--DO NOT USE

The sales experience was a good one. They were courteous and professional, but then it went downhill. As a contract expert, I reviewed it carefully and discussed concerns with the sales associate, Mervin. I was quoted 11 hours of labor, and 6 hours of travel time. This was, as Mervin explained, an overestimate, "just in case." I was told that the 11 hours of labor time would be split between my home in CT and my home in MD (4 hours to pack and load in CT and 7 to unload, unpack and put furniture together in MD), and the 6 hours was the time it would take to drive from CT to NY. They arrived and hour and a half late for the move. They lied and said there was traffic, which, CT has traffic cams and I had just left on 95---there was not traffic sunday morning at am) They loaded our things, and then drove down to MD. They got lost/took the wrong direction on the GW bridge, so were also late in arriving in MD. Then, they asked for the full payment upon arrival, even for the hours not worked or projected. In addition, the foreman wanted us to pay and additional 6 hours for their travel time BACK to their homes in NYC. This was not in the contract and is completely ridiculous, as larger companies such as allied would never do this, since they have the capabilities of arranging pick ups to reduce overheads. Why should I be charged for their company being smaller?! Especially since this was not in the contract! Well, the held my stuff hostage, and threatened to pack it up and leave back to NYC with all of our furniture. In fact the foreman was so angry that I was discussing the contract that the owner had to ask him to leave my home! He was yelling, acting aggressively, and shoving papers and throwing his calculator IN MY HOME. The owner was also no help, and said that I had to pay or they would take our stuff back to NYC. He said that we could discuss the issues on Monday and make any adjustments. The move was 7/26, and despite numerous attempts to reach him, he has not contacted me back. Since I was forced to pay, I did (although later found out from our attorney and cop friends that this was completely illegal of them, and I should have called the police). They moved things out of the truck, and placed items in the wrong rooms, despite clear instruction. Boxes clearly labeled "kitchen" were placed in the bedrooms, etc. Not all movers spoke English well. They also did not stay for their full contracted time that I paid for. It was one of the movers' kids' birthdays, so they wanted to get back to NY. they left early, and did not put the furniture together, as they were supposed to in the contract. They did assemble bed frames, but did so shoddily--the frames were loose and they didnt use all the screws and bolts to ensure a safe assembly. They left boxes outside and did not bring everything in. Lastly, when I was demanding that they stay the full time I paid for to finish unwrapping shrink wrap and to assemble furniture, per the contract, the foreman again lost his temper and threw his razor blade hard onto my stairs, towards his colleague. I have this on video tape and my babysitter was also a witness. It was ridiculous. If anyone wants to see the video footage of this, please contact me. DO NOT use this company. They have broken laws, cheated us out of $2400 and some of our stuff was damaged. We have hired a lawyer and intend to file a report with the BBB and post our videos on uTUBE.
