When my wife, and I put our house in Florida on the market we started contacting moving companies. Unfortunately for us we found, and contracted Regions Van Lines. Initially Alexis Toldeo was very helpful. We paid our $760.00 deposit, and scheduled a pick up date for the end of October 2014. The buyers of our home were delayed by their mortgage company so we postponed the pick up date through Alexis Toldeo. So far so good. We rescheduled the pick up for 21 November, 2014 which was actually the day after we closed the sale of our house, but the new owners we understanding that that day was the soonest Regions Van Lines could move us. We requested a pack up with the goods going to a Regions Storage facility. On the day of the move Regions Van Lines did not show up, or even call us. After a bit of panic on our part we found a local company to pack us up the next day, and obtained permission from the new owners to stay an additional 24 hours in what was now their house. I called Regions (Alexis Toldeo) and had to leave a message. She never called me back, but Matt did. He said they had tried to call 2 days before but our phone was turned off; (1st Lie) as our phone was on until close of business on the day of the schedule move. He said he would try to find a local company to help us out; (2nd Lie) he failed to do this, but I found one in 30 minutes by just using Google. He stated that his paperwork showed a pack up and direct move to Las Vegas with no storage, and Regions had no long haul trucks/crews available. (3rd Lie) I had only requested a pack and move to their storage facility when I scheduled this with Alexis Toldeo.
After 2 weeks I received my deposit back and concluded this nightmare with Regions Van Lines. What ever you do, don't be sold by their low prices. I spent 22 years in the Army and moved many, many times and I never heard of or saw a moving company simply not show up or even call.
