After a ton of research, I went with Von Paris Moving and Storage (United Van Lines). My sales rep was Randy Gailey and my moving coordinator was Carol Thompson. The driver was John Olden and he had Kenny on both days, Bud on the pick-up and Leroy on the delivery.
I had 6500 pounds, 225 items and the bound price was $2646.08 and included a fee because it was picked up a Public Storage facility and $50,000 additional insurance.
I had 40 boxes of books that were very heavy (55 pounds or more), a fragile, antique bedroom set and many more boxes.
Everything was packed by me since it was already in storage but there were a couple of things that were not packed well including the mirror for the antique dresser and they repacked it and then padded it with no charge for additional materials.
There was not one drop of damage to anything. Everything was very well wrapped with padding. At delivery, floor runners were put down on all the hardwood. Queen bed was set-up for me.
They were early on both pick-up and delivery, but the driver called first. On both ends it was about three hours to load/un-load.
Driver and movers were extremely courteous, professional and fun to be around. I provided snacks and drinks and they were very appreciative.
This was the best move that I have ever had and will use them again for all future moves!!
