poor customer service and extortion

Submitted this review about A - TOPPS MOVING & STORAGE L.L.C

I hsve contacted the company in an effort to get my belongings that they have been trying to extort additional monies. 1. your failure to assist in resloving my delivery dispute with A Topps Movers, in their attempt or yours to EXTORT extra money in the amount of $3592.92(in which by the way, I assumed since th actual weigh ticket in my possession does not reflect 6220 lbs and is not my actual weigh, I believe someone calculated 107 items x .58 = 6220 lbs x .58= $3592.92) and now you have conveniently decided to extort $2500 by threatening to send my items to auction. 2. your failure to honor binding moving estimate. 3. your failure to notify that my move would be subcontracted out to another carrier. It is my understanding that since we have a binding moving estimate the actual moving costs should not exceed the estimate of (a little more than) 1800 lbs. I have not recieved a final invoice and do not believe that I should not be extorted for an amount that would exceed the 10% estimation if I had no binding agreement. They are horrible, are in need of immediate customer service training and to be ordered to cease immediate business. It disgraceful how they attempt to extort monies from individuals in this economy, the sad part about is my children did not have Christmas as a result of this non-sense, better yet no school clothes or school supplies because they are on the truck. Happy 2010! Since I believe this is a fradulent attempt to extort additional monies, I have contacted the Better Business Bureau of California, where I am pleased to learn that my husband and I were not the only persons to have complained or been taking advantage of as this appears to be pretextual behavior by Budget Van Lines in which I plan to state in my complaint when I move forward in Small Claims courtYou can file a complaint with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration. I am requesting that my original esitmate be honored and my personal belongings be delivered immediately. Please feel free to contact me at 617 312-4294 617 312-4294, 313 522-6931 313 522-6931 or 702 632-1307 702 632-1307. Please also note that I have left a message for Rami and Melissa but have not received a return call. Thank you for your prompt response to this matter, this is an attempt to resolve a dsipute and stop the threatening telephone calls from Jeff Bell.
