This is or complaint letter: September 15, 2008 To Whom It May Concern: We are writing to notify you of damages to our property done by the movers as well as grievances for falsely quoting us prices and late arrival of our property. The day that I agreed to contract All In One Moving & Storage, Inc. (August 9th, 2008) I spoke with Adam on the phone. We went over the charges in detail, including how much more they would charge me if they had to carry our property a longer than normal distance. He said the first one hundred (100) feet were free, and every additional seventy five (75) feet would cost seventy five ($75) dollars. Once the movers came to pick up the items, they charged me extra for tape and wrapping the wardrobe. It was never explained to me that I would have to pay them a total of $85 for tape and for them to wrap two mirror doors with bubble wrap I supplied, which the movers would later break anyway. The next day, I spoke with Adam again to tell him the rules and approximate distance of our apartment. That’s where he then changed his verbal quote to the first 75 feet being free and $75 dollars each additional 75 feet. I told him that that was not what he quoted me the first time, which was first 100 feet free and $75 for each additional 75 feet. His response was: “Yes, whatever I quoted you before that’s what it is… 100 feet. Why, what did I say before?” I responded, “ you said 75 feet.” He responded, “No, it’s 100 feet.” I also mentioned to him what I was charged by the movers for the tape, and he said, “Ernie called me when I was sleeping and I didn’t know what he was asking me, but I will take care of it. It was a mistake.” We never got reimbursed for the tape charges. A few weeks later, Andres, one of the movers, then called my boyfriend, in California to inform him that they would be delivering the items on Tuesday, August 26th. This was the date we agreed on. My boyfriend had everything ready for delivery, but the movers never showed up nor called. He tried calling the movers but nobody picked up. The next day, (Wednesday, August 27th) Andres called my boyfriend and told him that he was stuck in Las Vegas due to truck problems and that he would try to deliver on Thursday (August 28th). He also said that he would call my boyfriend to update him on the truck situation. He didn’t call on Wednesday (27th). The next day (Thursday 28th) he called my boyfriend in the evening and told him that he would deliver our items on Friday, August 29th. Friday afternoon they finally showed up. They then explained that they would charge us $400 to carry our stuff from the truck to our apartment, which is quite a distance. This would include only the first 75 feet free (not the first 100 feet free as Adam quoted me over the phone), and each additional FIFTY at $75 (Not 75 feet at $75.00 as he also quoted me over the phone). my boyfriend refused and had to carry the stuff in himself from where the movers dropped off our property. For the one item (wardrobe A1 & A2) that we were charged to supposedly get professionally wrapped, Andres followed my boyfriend to the apartment to guide my boyfriend because the wardrobe was so large and also to take off the protective blankets. There, my boyfriend and Andres found that one of the mirror doors arrived cracked and no longer closed appropriately. Andres said he would go over the claim procedure with my boyfriend, but never did because they left as soon as they finished unloading our items from the truck. They never went over the inventory with my boyfriend either. To this day nobody from the moving company has gone over the inventory of the shipped items with either of us. my boyfriend also realized that our wooden dining table was missing and that he had a box that didn’t belong to us. Andres did call a few times to come back, but in the end never showed up. I called All In One Moving to ask why we hadn't received our dining table and to let them know that the driver was giving us the "I have family problems excuse" for not delivering our table. I told him that I didn't care about family problems, that we were paying for a service. So, ALl In One Moving told me to call back whenever I gave a damn about family problems and hung up on me. Over a week later, on Sunday Sept. 7th, another mover from XPress Movers & Storage finally came by to pick up the box that was not ours and delivered our table which was damaged. The base of the table, which is made of two pieces of solid wood about 3 inches thick, was broken beyond repair. We also found that our bookshelf had a few things damaged to it as well. First, the back panel was ripped down the middle in two. And one of the movers marked the actual shelf with an ink pen. We feel that compensation is in order for each and every issue listed above. This company has been less than straight forward and careless with us from the moment they picked up our items. Sincerely, Very angry and disappointed customer
