Agreed to $477, perfectly civil, to move small amount of goods 90 miles along highway.
Took deposit, promised confirmation email, that never came. Prompted, no email came. Prompted again, loud shouting from Scary Adam who needs to attend anger management and sounds dangerous. He said/shouted that he did not want to have me as a customer, and would refund my deposit. I agreed whole heartedly that he should refund it, and that we should forget the whole thing. I got a reputable mover within minutes for less.
Instead of refunding my money, Adam started sending me confirmation emails, several of them in fact, am now in the second day of receving them, confirming $577 for the move, and keeping my deposit. (a large national moving company is taking care of the move for me, for $450)
i've reported the company to American Express and to the local consumer protection agency.
