First of all the movers showed up hour late. I asked 3 movers to come because I wanted it to go quicker. Upon arriving I was rushed through the numerous forms and had confidence in the company that they knew what they were doing, so I signed them quickly. It was an unorganized mess!! I was moving from a residence to a storage unit 20 miles away. My Great Grandmothers vanity mirror was broken as the mover carried it to the truck- which I don't know why it wasn't wrapped in padding?? I was assured I could file a claim to replace it. I had given instructions on what I wanted left on the outside of unit because I was going to have to go there to get my things for the next few months. However, the guy I told this info to must not have relayed this message to the other movers. After they were done, I went in and it looked a mess and the things I needed to get to were all the way in the back! My plasma TV was not wrapped in cloth padding and was just laying on the floor. A lamp shade was ripped as well. Now, 2 months later I went to move my things into my new place (of course not with movers) and found my TV had scratches on it and the stand must've cracked so now it leans to the left. My Great Grandmothers Antique Vanity( piece of furniture) had wheels broken off the bottom and a chunk of wood stripped off the top edge! This is the vanity the mover broke the mirror to on moving day. I was given a quote for $125.00 to replace this size of mirror at a local place in Fort Lauderdale. Now after already filing claim, I've seen how poorly several other things were packaged and damaged! Also, I was never given a copy of my moving fees and guidelines. I was told they left it on the stove in the place I was leaving from, which I could not go back to retrieve. I filed the claim with photos of what I knew was damaged (at the time) and got a claim returned in the amount of $21.00 for the mirror and lamp. It appears the form I did not get states they pay .60cents per pound of items damaged. Ridiculous!! To make matters worse I've since discovered when I removed my things from storage that my new $850.00 wooden dining table( which is not even paid off) was poorly packaged!! They took off the legs and wrapped them in padding and taped it securely. However, the most important part (the top of the table) was only wrapped in plastic saran-like wrap around the circumference of the table top. Therefore the edges were worn through with scratches on all corners and there were several scratches on the top in the middle. I was furious!! This should have been wrapped in padding and covered completely!! I paid around $850.00 approx. for the move, boxes, and pads to have the job done right!! These expensive, priceless things were in the care of obviously amateur movers!! Had I known, I would've insured my things or gone with another company!!Now I'm left with scratched table top I see every day on my new dining table and scratched, leaning Plasma TV I have to look at as well. Needless to say spending that much money I'd think a company would make sure the customer is happy. These movers were obviously not trained to protect these things from damage!! $21.00 is a joke for the damage that has been done and for the priceless things I cannot replace. I will be sure to warn my, friends, coworkers, and anyone I know to look elsewhere if they want professional movers!! I feel this was a rip off and I definitely lost in the end of this whole process!! I LITERALLY lost PRICELESS things and still can't get over the offer of $21.00!!! I think you need to train your movers better in customer service and to properly care for things of others or you will have many unhappy customers to come. They will definitely not be recommended by me!!! Sincerely, Penny
