TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE- Houston

When you first call All My Sons Moving, they are so incredibly nice and act like they really care about you and your belongings. I purposely went with this company (even though they were a little pricier than others) because of their initial customer service. I spoke with Clifton, and he gave me a quote of $189 for 2.5 hours to move my 1 bedroom/1 bathroom 690 sq. foot apartment. I asked if that price included everything, and he said it did. A few days before my move, Patrick called to confirm the move and schedule a time. I asked him if it was still going to be at the price that I had discussed with Clifton, and he said yes. On the day of my move, the movers came on time. As we were reviewing the contract, I was told that I would be charged a $95 fuel charge on top of the quote that I had already received since I was a local move. I had not been notified of this charge. In fact, I had ruled out other moving companies who had a fuel charge, so I know that if I had known about it up front, I would have not even been using All My Sons Moving. I told the movers that I would call the office and take it up with them. I figured they would be pretty understanding since they had been so nice when scheduling the move and quoting me, not to mention, they had never mentioned that I would be paying this fee in the three times that I had spoken with them previously. Well, I was wrong. I got on the phone with Patrick as the movers began to load the first few boxes. He was immediately defensive when I asked about this charge, began to argue with me and telling me that he “confirmed over 10,000 jobs a day, and he tells each person about that charge, and that I was in the wrong because he knew that he had told me, and that I had no choice but to pay it” . THIS IS NOT TRUE. He had never told me. If he had, I would have said something then, and would have gone with a different company, it’s as simple as that. He told me that “if I didn’t pay the charge, then the move would be canceled”. Well what was I supposed to do?? Here I am, my current lease ends today, I’m paying rent/electricity for the new apartment starting today, I’ve taken the day off of work to move and my entire apartment is packed!! HE THEN PROCEEDED TO HANG UP ON ME!!!!! Please keep in mind that this is a very small portion of the exchange that occurred between me and Patrick. I am still in shock at how rude he was. The movers were great, but it took them nearly five hours to finish my move (a 690 square foot apartment that was completely packed and I moved only 2 miles up the street!!), and it ended up costing me $400!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!! The office staff will rip you off, they are unprofessional, incredibly rude and DISRESPECTFUL!!!!! Movers=GREAT Office Staff=TERRIBLE!!!!!
