I would never use this company again, and I will spread the word to whoever I can about this. We were quoted 6 hours for a move that ended up taking 16 hours, and we were paying by the hour!
We went from a 3 bedroom house in Ft. Myers to a 2 bedroom apartment in Ft. Lauderdale. When the movers came to pick everything up, all boxes were in one room and no furniture had to be taken apart.
Two men (one of which who was 50 years old and walked with a limp because he was hurt) showed up late at 9:30 instead of 7:00 and it took them 6 hours just to load the truck. While they were en-route to Ft. Lauderdale, I called customer service to see what can be done to compensate us for all the extra time it was taking. Charlie (the manager) was extremely rude and disrespectful, telling me that I should have made the movers leave after 3 hours with only half my stuff when I saw it was taking them too long. I asked him he he would do that if it were him, and he responded, "I would have chosen movers I could afford." I had to drag a name out of him to find out who his boss was, only to find out that he gave me the name of the supposed "owner" who in reality does not work there anymore.
The movers then got lost on their way over, which was still time that I had to pay for. When they showed up, it took them until 12:30 in the morning to unload the truck. No furniture had to be put back together, and they didn't put boxes into the room they belonged. Instead, all boxes went onto our patio and we had to move them. The movers damaged several pieces of furniture including two nightstands from a new bedroom set, our couch, bookcases, and a file cabinet that can now no longer be used.
I called the company again and finally got in touch with Eli, who is supposedly the person in charge, who told me that when he put our move into his computer it should have cost us over $2000, even though we were only quoted for $700 so they were already eating too much of the cost and they would not do anything to compensate us. It has been two weeks and I am still waiting to receive paperwork to put claims in for damaged items, which I will only be getting 60 cents per pound if they determine the movers were who actually damaged the items!
This has had to be the WORST experience I have ever had with a moving company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!
