They arrived at 3:30 p.m., finished packing us up at 10 pm and then we had to finish cleaning our house and then drive 5 hours to our new home in DE so we could meet the movers the next morning around 11 am (original time). Why they didn't start earlier is beyond me and the 5 hour drive at the end of a very long day was a nightmare. Then, because we did not find out before we left NY what the final balance was, and we were unable to get a certified check from our bank before we left for our new home, and could not get the full amount from the PO, we had to charge the balance and pay the additional 3% fee. I argued for 2 mos about this, that we did not expect the movers to come so late, that we would have to leave our home in NY w/ no time to go to our bank when the consolidation company finally agreed to reimburse the 3%. BUT THEN I found out that I could not complain about the company and decided to forgo the 3% so I have the opportunity to go on any website I can find to complain. When selecting a mover, 1). Have someone come to your home to figure out how much you'll be moving. We did it ourselves, with help from the broker of this moving company, but we were so off in our figuring that it cost us. 2). HAVE IT IN WRITING WHAT TIME THE MOVERS WILL ARRIVE! Granted, the company let us know what time the movers would arrive but at that point, what could we do? Having them arrive at 3:30 p.m was nuts, and then finish at 10 p.m. and then having to meet them the next morning at 11 a.m.? The movers came from Maryland and they should have arrived the night before so they could have started first thing in the morning. Any complaint is sent to the consolidation company that couldn't care less! So, beware of using this company because they'll promise you the moon and you'll have nothing but headaches.
