Plenty of people have easy, seamless moves however mine unfortunately wasn't one of them. It's been a comedy of errors from Day 1, with my stuff just showing up at the destination almost a month after it was picked up. The first error made was when my salesperson accidentally put HIS email address in what was supposed to be MY email address field on the order. This resulted in me never receiving a credit card authorization form (after my stuff was picked up). Because I never received this, and they never received it from me, they put my stuff in storage without my knowing and without informing me. It took me over a week to get an answer from someone as to where my stuff was (as several people I spoke to had no idea what had happened or where it might be). I finally received the authorization where I sent it back within the hour, and they eventually picked it up from the warehouse it was sitting and started it moving cross country (across 4 states total). The truck had broken down once in Colorado, and once in Washington state. The truck sat in each place for almost a week "waiting for a part." My guess is that the trucks had not actually broken down, and rather the truck was waiting for additional loads to ship west. I wish they would have just been honest with me. The load was dropped off in Tacoma, about 30 miles south of Seattle where it was transfered to a smaller truck (due to my downtown location). The two gentleman that actually unpacked the truck into my apartment were terrific, however each driver that I contacted over the duration was anything but helpful or interested in providing me any information. Now that I've finally unpacked, there are at least 3 boxes missing completely, along with a kitchen chair from my table w/ 4 chair set. Also, art work has been damaged (a sculpture literally snapped in half), a tv stand destroyed (they warned me in advance, as it was particleboard, so I can live with this) and an end table barely able to hold itself up anymore (non particleboard). I've spoken to no fewer than 5 different people associated with this moving company, each of which has guaranteed me they'll make it right by a) trying to find the stuff missing b) reimbursing me for my trouble c) helping me file a claim, etc however I've yet to actually receive a phone call back from any of these people. For now I'll protect them by not mentioning their names, but not for long if there isn't traction made on any of the above. My next step will be to involve my attorney obviously. Word of caution with this moving company. I'm sure there are moves that have gone well for them and some positive reviews, however to me the true value of a moving company is how they deal with the situation when things DON'T happen to go as smoothly as possible while trying to make good on their commitment and reputation as a company. Be very cautious using this company and don't expect much if for some reason your move doesn't go exactly as planned.
