Very Bad Move

We hired an agent of Allied Van Lines to do our move from Winnipeg MB to Victoria BC in Canada on April 30th 2007. This was the very worst experience I ever had with a moving company. A complete lack of communication and service on every level. We had the sales agent Kim Small come out about 2 months before our move come out and go over everything with us. We decide on a partial pack, which is where they take care of the fragile items. Just before our move Ms. Small went on vacation, which she is entitled to do. The company had not given us an other agent to really deal with. The movers showed up on time and were not aware they were to be doing a partial pack. They had to send the truck back to get supplies for such. The chain of miscommunication starts. When we arrive in BC we phoned to speak with Ms Small to find out when our items would be arriving. We find out she is no longer with the company, they directed us to this other person who was not at all helpful. Basicly it was a will call you don't call us to find out where your things are attitude we got. Well finally on the 15th of May we got a phone call letting us know that they would be delivering our items and the total we owed them before delivery. We payed the total no problem and then the truck arrived. The movers informed us that somewhere along the way between Winnipeg and Victoria that 26 of our boxes did not make it with the shipment. We were given some story about overflow or some such nonsense and thet they got seperated from the rest of the items. Yet not to worry they should arrive in the next day or so. Well for two weeks we were given the same run around that someone was checking into trying to find a truck to drop them off and they would phone us back right away with a date they never did. Finally on May 30th the remaining boxes arrived. They did not even send a proper moving van. They just got a courier company to drop they items off which did not even help us bring them inside the apartment. The boxes they delivered were completed damaged. They were all crushed, some were split open, some had holes in them and you could tell the hole went through the items inside. It was the most heartbreaking thing to see. You put your belongings in the hands of this company that says they will treat them with care and they show up ruined. I am making it my duty to inform everyone of the bad service and mistreatment we have received from Allied Van lines.
