Improper & Irresponsible Service

Submitted this review about Alpha & Omega Moving and Storage

1. Their estimate is phony and a bait. Although I provided the detailed list of all our moving items, the discrepancy between their estimated weight and actual weight is huge - from 4,000 lbs to 12,000 lbs. Their benefit from this is that they can add 40% of surcharge in addition to the assesed costs per pound. 2. The carrier arrived at the pick-up location three hours late as we had to vacate the place by a certain hour. 3. When we received our items at the delivery address, we found many broken items in our furniture and furnishings. It was apparent from the broken legs on chairs and tables that the furniture was used to anchor and secure the balance of the nearly 12,000 pounds of household items. The only way that the legs on the chairs could incur the degree of damage that they did is through movers using the legs as anchor cleats to secure the balance of the load. This should never have happened. The movers that came to the delivery address assured us that the company would repair the damage, however, that has never happened. 4. Extensive damage occurred to lamps, paintings, sculpture and framed and glassed artwork. 5. Boxes of inventory tagged items and other inventory tagged items were never delivered. We asked the mover to retrieve the boxes and items. This has not happened. 6. A & O wanted to settle with $200, which is insulting compared to the significant damage that they caused to us. We have tried to contact the manager via phone and email numerous times regarding these issues; however, we have never received his call. Overall, Alpha & Omega is improper and irresponsible. Their customer service is provided only until they receive the money. Since many people that used this company mentioned on other review sites about their missing items, I wonder whether our missing boxes and items are indeed lost, not stolen. It is worth pursuing further investigation.
