CLASSIC BAIT AND SWITCH!! MY BAD EXPERIENCE HERE

Submitted this review about AmeriCarrier Van Lines
Review made Live: 5/21/2012 3:24:00 PM
I filled out an email form for moving info. on an upcoming move from Long Beach, California to Riverdale, New York. I was contacted by Americarrier and I called them back and received a quote. I spoke with Sam Blanc. His title is Sales Mgr or Sales Acct. Mgr. I told him that I needed my things to arrive by or on the 7th. He told me that it could happen if my things were picked up early. So they picked them up on 4/25/2012 am. I also told him I would not be in New York until after the 6th of May, and not to be delivered before. When we spoke on the phone, he was courteous and reassuring that all my needs and concern of delivery date could and would be satisfied. So I signed up. His quote was way off in the end. I told him I didn’t have items packed, and that is was approx. but close. His quote and the amount in the end were way off!!! The price went from 1,700 to 3,985. I did not have anything close to double the items. I think they are okay with under estimating because there is an accelerated price that you will pay for if over amount of original items. I was told the new price after all of my items were packed onto truck. Additionally I was told that I didn’t have to pack up large things like tv's. pictures, etc and their service would do it. When the movers arrived, they said they would pack it all for a few. If I had known that, I would have had it all packed. Fast forwarding to Tuesday the 1st of May, I get a call from the driver in New York telling me that he will be in New York on Thursday the 3rd to drop off my furniture. As mentioned earlier to Sam Blanc and others at the company, I would NOT be in New York until AFTER May 6th...why was I getting this call?!? So tried reaching Sam Blanc who I have NEVER been able to reach after the sale and the first day. I have left multiple messages and an email, but no return call or email. Although at the end of the sale in an email he tells me to call if I need anything.. BS!! Joke on me. So, I speak to a Phillip (supposed Mgr) who tells me everything is straightened out. I speak to the driver again and he tells me he will deliver Monday morning. When I get to New York Monday morning I cannot reach the driver...I don't get a call until Tuesday informing me that my things won't be delivered until Wednesday, and not sure what time. So for two days and nights, I have none of my belongings and slept on a hardwood floor. The movers finally show up on Wednesday mid-morning to deliver my things. After all is delivered one guy asks for a tip. I wanted to kill him, lol. Later on after going through a thorough check of my things, I noticed one of the legs on my dining table damaged, and a noticed a pen (Le Grand Mont Blanc Pen/Blk & Plat) missing from my night stand drawer where I purposely left it prior to the move. This move for ma was nothing but a nightmare. If Sam Blanc were more knowledgeable, his cost forecast would not been almost double in price, and he would have followed up with me, the customer. I wish I had done business with one of the other moving companies. I will never make this mistake again. So if you are looking for a bait and switch, and poor customer service, they are your company. If not, I would advise doing business with someone else.
