We used American Home Movers largely based on reviews we read. They seemed great until I gave out my credit card number for the deposit. They tried to change the date the day before the move, & made me think they might not show up at all. They seemed to have no concern that a major move can be stressful enough without being in fear that your movers may not show after you have already paid. They would not give me a time, & even though the original pick-up time was between 7:30am and 9am, they did not show up until after 11am. When they were already at my house, packing my items they informed me I would have to pay $1,000 more than they had quoted me. At the destination, they wanted the final installment of $2,000 before even letting me see my furniture. They had one of my mattresses strapped to the outside of the truck, and it had just been raining; so I had to argue with the guy to at least let me check the mattress before paying. After all of that; the worst part was that since un-packing we have found that several items were damaged during the move.
