We selected American Movers Group to move from Michigan to Texas back in October. It took the truck 16 days to deliver our items, so we were left living in an empty apartment for over 2 weeks while we waited for our items. I made calls nearly every day after the initial week to get information about our things. There were times that no one would answer at the customer service line during business hours. They could not tell me where the truck was, they did not know. Though I was assured I would get a call from the office with information, I never received one call. I was always the one to initiate communication. Once our things (finally) arrived, it was after 9:00 PM on a weeknight. The driver asked me to meet him because he couldn't find our apartment, even though he hadn't looked yet. He asked me to meet him somewhere, which I refused, since it was dark, and he was a complete stranger to me. After following the GPS, he got here just fine. While unloading, his assistants were throwing furniture and boxes, I am sure contributing to several items of broken glass. There was also water damage to several boxes and a mattress. They could not locate our desk chair, and called me the next day to say that they found it while unloading someone else's things, and had me come pick it up, instead of dropping it off themselves. We lost a bag full of tools valued at over $300. It is my belief that the driver stole it, since he seemed to know what was in the bag when I looked through the inventory. The claim process just ended on May 15, with a settlement of $23. I refused the settlement so I could freely complain to sites such as this.
