WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE!!!!

After my initial conversation with Howard, the owner, I was sold on this company. He was very customer oriented and seemed to believe their happiness was a priority. Being in the customer service industry, I had to appreciate his passion. I remember him telling me about his wife and young daughter and I said, as a single woman, please think of how you would want your wife or daughter treated. I even turned down a moving company that quoted me $600 less because I felt so strongly about Howard's concern for his customers' well being. My pick up was supposed to be 9/29 or 9/30 - the last day I could have my belongings in my apartment. The driver called me on the 30th to tell me it would be the first. No one seemed to concerned, and Howard's brother, Eric, actually had the nerve to raise his voice to me on the phone when I voiced my frustration. He went on to tell me he would not speak to me anymore. Then, I was told by both Howard and Thomas that my things would be put into storage until the 10/23 as I had requested. I received a call Sunday 10/4 from the mover that he would be at my apartment at 8am on 10/5. I said, in an effort to put me out of my misery of having to deal with this company, that I would figure it out. The mover than told me I could only pay with cash when Howard told me I could use a debit card. Clearly in 12 hours I would not be able to get $1200 cash. The mover than threatended to keep my things for a year if I couldn't come up with the cash. Once the driver got to my new apt. it took him 9 hours to deliver everything. Everything consisted of 25 boxes, a bed, desk 2 tables and a chair. Unfortunately, he disassembled all my furniture and then couldn't find all the hardware to put it back together. I acutally had to carry boxes because they were moving so slow and I couldn't continue to invest that kind of time. The driver actually had the nerve to tell me he hated to leave a customer unhappy - which I laughed hyterically at given the last week dealing with them. For the first time in my adult life I was able to "treat " myself to "professional" movers to do all the heavy lifting instead of having to do it myself. I think, after this experience, I will continue to do it on my own. I feel bad for Howard as, clearly, he spends much of his time putting out fires created by his brother Eric or his movers.
