Subcontracted us out, broke our stuff, AVOID

Best way to describe this move? Dishonest, scam, illegal, probably moving to legal action. This move began 6-7 weeks out with talks of $3200 as a total, pick up on 7/1 or 7/2, with delivery a few days after that. Prompt responsive customer service. They got my $700 deposit... I was honestly excited that I had hired a good company. THEN CAME MOVE DAY! The day of the move the dispatcher calls me and says "Ya... So we probably won't be there for another week, we have a broken down truck, someones over.. blah blah blah.." My response "NOT ACCEPTABLE", you committed, you need to come and move us. So the answer, they subcontracted us out to a piss poor reviewed company called able movers out of Chicago (without asking me if this was ok), 2 guys showed up a on the 3rd and took something like 9 hours to load the truck. Then they went to Chicago. Our bill came in 1000lbs over, even though we'd gotten a walk through estimate done previously... Can't speak to honestly on this front, but I know the guys loaded an extra couch they wanted to keep that we let them have, they claim they took it off, who really knows. So.. 9 days go by, 7 business days, the absolute outer edge of what they claim is the turn around on a 550 mile drive (something I've done in a day). We've now had our condo for almost half a month, with no stuff. 2 guys and a giant truck show up on the 12th, boxes stacked to the sky, many crushed. They unload in what ends up taking probably 5-6 hours. The guys are nice, our condo is at the end of a hall way so they charge us an extra $550 for the walk + $25 for made up elevator load something or another "We want your money because you're NEVER EVER going to call us again fee". The guys unload everything and do their best. Almost every box is crushed, lots of broken and glass and personal items. Some damage to 1 of the carpets. Initial quote of $3100, clocks in at $4800. I should have just gone with the discount guys, no chance I'd ever bother hiring this group again, they subcontracted me out, so I paid a premium price, for a low-ball quality move! Well done guys! You got me! I'll make sure I spread the word to all I can, far and wide to NEVER, EVER bother hiring you, you made a Stressfull period 10 times worse! At this point, I plan to stop payment on my credit card and may be going ahead with legal action.
