Ok at first, but movers contracted were awful!

We went with America's Moving Services based on the reviews and my phone contact with them. They seemed with it, but the company they used for our move, Able Moving, had no clue. They arrived late in the day, and were completely unaware of what they were moving, and had no inventory listing. They didn't know they were moving things out of a full storage unit and a uhaul, despite me notifying AMS. As well, they had already picked up one load that had went over weight, which worried me that they wouldn't have enough room for my stuff (ultimately they did, but the way they had to shove things in to do it left several items broken). AMS seemed surprised that Able didn't have any information up front. After everything was loaded, and we went over the paperwork, Able wouldn't take my personal check for half of the delivery cost, even though I was assured by AMS they would (as my items were being stored for 1 week before redelivery). It just seemed that I was given misinformation by AMS, and that each company didn't know what the other was doing. Despite the fact that I had made clear the stuff had to be stored for a week, due to our house not being ready, but we had to move to start work, we received a call from Able half a week early claiming that our stuff was being delivered! I finally got on the phone with someone who seemed like they had a clue, and she double checked and assured me my stuff was not being delivered early. Finally, I was going to pay with a credit card, and the same clueless individual who called about my stuff arriving early, also said the fee was going to be higher than what AMS had in my contract. As well, AMS told me that the amount due was due in advance if paying by credit card, but Able wouldn't take a credit card until they arrived to deliver. It was just more confusion, and each company didn't have a clue about the other. My stuff finally did arrive about on time, although the additional workers didn't arrive for nearly 2-3 hours after the semi arrived, so it was a slow start. There were several pieces of antique furniture that showed damage right away, and more collectibles were discovered broken as I unpacked. When I pointed out the items damaged, the mover exclaimed that I would be lucky if that was all that was broken, and that I would be having a hard time getting any money back from the company for damages! Talk about honesty! As well, our 2 wheel appliance dolly, that we made sure was inventoried, mysteriously never arrived with the rest of our stuff! It was a poor experience full of confusion and misinformation, and I will not be contracting with AMS again.
