extremly late and poor customer service at office

Let me start at the beginning.... I reserved a large truck well in advance of my move: 24 ft., $90/ hr as I wanted to avoid multiple trips because of the travel time between the 2 homes. I set up a morning move which was supposed to mean they'd arrive between 7am and 10am. At 10 pm the night before I was to be moved, I got a call saying there were no large trucks available, and I'd get the standard truck: 14 ft (just over 1/2 as big!) for $75 an hour (big savings, hugh?). I pretty much had to accept this or change my move date. Reluctantly, I agreed. So, the next day comes along... I wait, and wait. At 11:00 I make the first call to check status. I am told they're running late- that's obvious! They say there's nothing they can do and they can't call the movers (independent contractors). I wait more. I call back at 12:30 as there are still no movers. More excuses, more bad customer service, and the run around about how they cannot promise an exact time (I didn't expect that- I just wanted them to show up remotely close to the window I was given). I request to speak with a manager- I'm told they'll have to call me back. 45 mins later, I get a call from the same manager from the 10 pm conversation the night before. Same excuses given as above, now one about "busy season" (that's why I made a reservation! Hello!), etc. They're stance is still, "we don't guarantee a time." He had the nerve to say "why don't you go grab yourself some lunch and they'll be there when they can." Still no offer to make up for the major inconvenienve they have caused. More waiting. This continues until 2:00 when I call again and ask to speak to a manager b/c nobody has showed up... I am told a manager will call me back immediately. I called them back an hour later (we're now at 5-8 hours late dep. on how you look at it) and hold until I get a manager b/c the calling back thing doesn't go too well. More run around, more excuses, and now I'm told to run errands if I need to because the movers will be a while still. I demand they do something to compensate me for all this- I am offered $5 less per hour. I laugh, but this is better than the lip service I've gotten to this point. Skip ahead to 4:30 when the movers show up. When I tell them it'll be $85 an hour, they look at eachother and say they don't want to do it for that and they don't have to agree to it. I am about to cry now- exhausted and frustrated to the max (mind you I have complained but not yelled or lost my cool to people on the phone or the guys who are about to handle all my stuff). They tell me the only way they'll do it is "if I make it up with a good tip!" I accept to get a move on (no pun intended). They make a few more attempts to hustle me- "we'll work faster for a better tip- in cash" since I'm paying hourly and want this done already (since the move should be complete by now) I say ok. They got it loaded (truck full to the brim), they follow me to the new house (I insisted b/c no telling how long it would take otherwise) and start unloading. They're moving pretty slow now. Then, as we near the 4 hour mark, I'm told I'll be charged for another hour unless my finace and I help get stuff inside. It's now 8:30 pm and I'm hauling the stuff I'd paid them to move! I pay out, and they stick out their hands for their cash tip. We pay a nice tip even though I totally don't want to and they don't deserve it, in my opinion, and I do so only b/c the late part is not directly their fault. Needless to say, I am posting on every forum I can to try to warn others. DO NOT USE APT MOVERS!!!
