I was having a hard time finding a moving company that would answer my phone calls, let alone give me a reasonably detailed quote. A couple of the ones I found were downright rude! One of them sounded like he really didn't want to deal with the hassle of moving my "small townhouse", taking about “professional service”.
Then I found B52 via a Google search, and I am SO glad I did.
my agent Cloe on the phone was detail-oriented (I guess they use a software program for their estimations). she was clear, forthcoming, and followed up via email. she promised that they bill based on the actual space usage high or low and that ill be able to see exactly how much space my load would use and the final bill will be stteled right on pickup, and they don't round-up. I was skeptical at first, but there was something about her candidness and transparency that appealed to me. she called me again the day before, to confirm the moving time.
On the day of the move, the moving guys (Pavel, Ron, and Kiran, a couple more helpers joined later) arrived almost 20 minutes early. They were fairly low-key and professional (as much as muscular, sports-loving, strapping young men can be, at any rate). They wrapped and padded and loaded my property up with a lot of TLC to ensure that nothing would break. Pavel who was also the driver drove up in the big-ass truck maneuvering as if it was nothing at all!
About 7 days later we got a call from Pavel saying he and his big rig will be at our place the following day.
Next morning he and a few team members showed up and after some greetings and without further ado, they went to check out the house layout, then proceeded to offload our property with efficiency and care. Even though my wife and I sometimes accidentally misdirected them on item placement, they accepted the changes graciously and with no grumbling what so ever (at least within our earshot, ha ha).
At the end, they marked all documentation accurately, and invoiced me for THE EXACT COST SUBMITTED UPON PICKUP. I gave them the maximum recommended tip, and they seemed really grateful. But later on my wife was like, you shoulda given a little more, because they were so hardworking and accommodating.
In summary: B52s agent and their moving guys communicated honestly, fully and professionally... moved my belongings swiftly, were hardworking, and kept their promises. This is literally the most non-BS experience I've ever had with a moving company. Hopefully they keep up the good work, keep hiring good movers, and their positive reputation spreads.
When I move again (because unfortunately I am in a rental), I will definitely call them, and ask for Pavel, Ron, and Kiran if they are still available. And next time I'll be sure to tip more than the recommended amount!
