My wife and I had to move across the country from Philadelphia to Los Angeles. I went to a website for quotes and BR movers was the lowest. At this point, had I been smart about it, I would have checked with the Better Business Bureau. Here is the link to their company: http://www.dc.bbb.org/report.html?nation... This company rates a D- with the BBB. Here is how the scam works: Initial quote was $2900. I listed ALL of my furniture. When the truck got to my house, THREE HOURS LATE, they instantly upped the quote to $3700. I told them no way They stated that they would have to charge my credit card $100 for showing up and being turned away. This is how they get you, consumers: They will offer you a low initial quote and then up it when they show up at your house they will raise it. Once your stuff is on the truck they raise the price again. My price ended up being $4400 for all of my furniture- from $2900 originally. They get on the road. They estimated 10-15 business days. Arrived in 4 and wanted another $500!! As there are numerous complaints against this company as clear scam artists below, please utilize the following address to file complaints. Additionally, if you have been ripped off by this company as we have, I would encourage you to contact the Federal Trade commission at ftc.gov. PLEASE take the time to file a complaint. Also seeking to start a call in campaign (My wife and I are calling four times a day right now) to get these guys shut down locally as the scam artists that they so clearly are!!
