SCAM SCAM SCAM..... Avoid this place at all costs..... So first of all they don't move your stuff (unless it is in town), they hire private drivers to move your stuff. 2. They don't have good working relationships with the drivers they hire to move your stuff. 3. They LIE to you about the price and ability to pay via credit/debit or cash. 4. They have been written up on various message boards (http://movingscam.com) check them out and you will realize they are a scam. So here is my story. My firm moved me from DC to CA, since my firm was picking up the tab I had to make sure everything went on my American Express. I was told be Jennifer that this would not be an issue and they put the deposit on my amex. So I schedule the pick up and they arrive on time, but as they were packing up my stuff they started to claim that the boxes I had used were not good enough (I used boxes from a storage moving place...) after a few words I gave in since I realized it was not worth fighting over a few extra bucks. I was told that I had 30 days of free storage and that once I had a place in CA they would move my stuff for me then. This I thought was great since I was living in corporate housing and had not yet found a place to live. Well about a week later I get a call from a driver telling me that he was picking up my stuff that day and wanted to know where I lived in CA... I was shocked and told him that I did not yet have a place and that I had 30 days of free storage. He said that BR told him to pick up my stuff and that I had to take it up with him but he would charge me a 500 drop fee to unload the truck. So I called BR and they told me that this was the only truck going cross country in the next month and that I had to use it otherwise they would not be able to deliver my stuff for at least one-two months.... WTF??? They told me that he can put it in storage when it arrives as the driver has a place and would then deliver it to me when I was ready. So three days later the driver calls me again and says he is going to deliver tomorrow and needs an address. I told him that BR said he would put it in storage and deliver when I was ready, he said he cant because he is based in FL and that I would still have to pay him the full amount in cash..... I told him that BR was going to charge my amex for the full amount, he said no that they don't pay him I do and he was telling me it was for way more than what BR had told me. When I called BR they told me I was full of Sh*t and hung up on me several times. At this point I was worried because some random driver had my stuff, was demanding more and it all in cash so what was I to do. The driver told me he would leave my stuff in a storage locker and once I wired him the money he would tell me where it was. BR refused to help me in any way and said that it was up to the driver and me to resolve this issue. Long story short, I had no choice but to wire him the money, after about a month he told me where my stuff was ( I found his mothers phone # and spoke to her, he then called me back). While I did get ever thing in the end, it cost me a lot more than I was told, they are rude, they don't care once they have been paid and they are the scum of the earth. Before you move next time, look up these guys and you will see.
