......We were trying to respond in company owner field but we didn’t find how to do that….. and didn't receive the answer how to do that from Moverreviews.com customer service... so we are responding here…..
Dear Visitors and Lorraine C. !!!!!!
First of all your move was a local move and you was on the hourly rate. When our representative gave you a quote you provide us with detailed inventory of items which you will be moving. By the item list provided by you , size of your move will be about 1631 lbs , or 233 cu ft. You also tell us that freight elevator and loading dock will be reserved for only our usage. Based on the size of the move and other details, you provided us with, our representative quoted you for 2 men & a truck for 3 hours of work + 1 hour of travel time. Total Estimate quote is $300.00. Also, want to note, that you move was a last minute move . You called to us and book it at about 10.00 am and by 1.00 pm our crew already was in your apartment. We didn't charge any extra for last minute move. At the time of booking you signed a contract, where is says that this is just an estimate (document on file), and our representative remind you that you are on the hourly rate and you'll pay for actual hours its take for us to complete you move.
Now, unfortunately you didn't mention a couple very important factors. Elevator was NOT reserved! Not the freight one, not the regular one! The loading dock was NOT reserved!!!!! So, our movers have to use a regular elevator (another movers used a freight elevator). Regular elevator was all the time noising and shutting the doors. Plus if someone from residents need elevator and they push the bottom , elevator just go to them. So they was trying to do the best they can to move you stuff with regular not reserved elevator. Also, as you noted by yourself in your review from the elevator to the apartment about 200 ft !!! It is actually not that close!!!! Its calls "Long Carry" , when the distance more than 75 ft. Another thing, the loading dock also wasn't reserved! Other movers truck was already there, and our movers have to park our truck all the way across the parking lot. Another big distance to walk! And all this of course adding additional time to your move!
It is YUOR RESPONSIBILITY to reserve an elevator and loading dock! If you are not doing this, you should expect additional time which will occur.
Due to the size of the move. The inventory you provided us with was incorrect. Only your boxes took 300 cu ft. ( by inventory you gave us, the whole move should be 233 cu ft).
So the size of the move was twice bigger than you tell us.
Also, you was moving from Arlington VA to Manassas VA . You need also to count the time for driving this distance.
Also, want to remind you , that as soon as we found out that you move is bigger than you tell us, and its will take longer, we send you third mover absolutely FREE!!!!!!! So, there was a three mover for the price of two.
And last thing, as you stated by yourself in your review , unloading was to the third floor with NO elevator!
Anyone who can look realistic on this situation or who knows just a little about moving industry can image the real size of this job!!!!!!!!!!!!
