My husband recently returned from a deployment to Afghanistan and we needed to relocate back to his duty station. We received services from Moving Express and Storage through Budget Vanlines. They showed up hours after they said they would be there, the driver blew up our bathroom, and then refused to move our stuff until my husband wrote him a personal check for an additional $240. He said it was due to the fact that there were stairs on the inside of the home, although it stated that it was a 3 story townhouse on the contract. I'm not sure how a person could figure a 3 story home had no stairs? Unfortunately for us, due to military commitments, we had to be moved then no matter what. Our belongings were then taken to a storage unit, which we had not agreed to, and left there for about a month. During that time the company never contacted us to give us any information about when our belongings would be delivered. I spoke to Budget Vanlines who also could not get a hold of this company. Finally someone picked up the phone at Moving Express after three weeks and told us very rudely that our goods were on their way. About a week later and a few phone calls later (we called them), the driver finally showed up three hours later than agreed. He refused to have his crew assemble any of the items we paid to have assembled, and the hardware for the items were handed over in old Burger King wrappers and cups.Expensive coats were stuffed in the washing machine, which luckily my husband had drained... I find it odd that we paid for packing material, yet that only bought us fast food wrappers? Half of our items were slung into boxes with zero care, with empty tape rolls and other garbage thrown in. Lastly, upon emptying the boxes, a suede and rabbit fur coat worth $250 was conveniently missing,,, They said they would contact the driver about but we have not heard a word about it. Unless you want to be robbed and ripped off, I highly suggest you stay far far away from these con artists. If this is how they treat soldiers returning from war, how will they treat anyone else?
