There is NO such thing as a GUARANTEED DELIVERY

We booked our move from Wisconsin to Texas though Budget Van line because they had some of the lowest prices and they were the only moving company to offer a "GUARANTEED DELIVERY". Because we were moving all the way from Wisconsin to Texas and we were going to arrive at our apartment with nothing but what is in our cars, we wanted to know when our stuff was going to get there. A lot of other moving companies told us our delivery would be a 14 day delivery window. And that there is no way they could guarantee a delivery date. But Budget Van line offered us the "GUARANTEED DELIVERY" for a $250.00 fee. I know it would be very hard to stay in our new apartment for two weeks without a bed, cookware, dishes, ext. so I paid the fee and got the "GUARANTEED DELIVERY" date of July 16th. In order for us to get our "GUARANTEED DELIVERY" we had to have our stuff picked up on July 3rd, it was not until July 2nd when we found out who our carrier would be. Our carrier was Moving Central out of Chicago. Moving Central called me the next day and told me I must be at my apartment and ready to move in on July 16th and that they would call me on July 15th to give me the time the driver would be there. So we got to Austin on July 15th and stayed in a hotel so we would be there when the moving truck came, but we still had not heart from Budget or moving Central. So on July 16th our "GUARANTEED DELIVERY" date after signing the lease and getting our room key, I called Budget Van line to ask what time the truck would be there. I did not get a time, but was told I would get a call back. I called Budget Van line that day FOUR times and all four times I did not get a answer. The truck did not come that day. The next day we called them and was told our delivery date was now Friday July 20th. On Thursday Moving Central called me and told me, now our delivery date was Monday July 23rd, one week after our "GUARANTEED DELIVERY" date. I told Moving Central about our agreement with Budget Van line and was told that "we are being refunded our GUARANTEED DELIVERY fee and now are under general population, so it does not matter when they delivery our stuff". I called Budget Van line and told them about this and was told by the rep on the phone "we refunded our GUARANTEED DELIVERY fee, so now this is no longer our problem". I told them, they failed to inform us that they moved out delivery date without warning us and now we are miles away from home in Wisconsin and in our apartment without all our stuff and they said "again this is NOT our problem". To make matters worse, on Monday we still had not heart from them, so I called and was told now our stuff would be there between Tuesday and Friday. This was the 3rd time that they moved our delivery date, not counting our "GUARANTEED DELIVERY". Budget Van line is HORRIBLE, their sale department is horrible, their customer service department is horrible and they offer things like a "GUARANTEED DELIVERY" and then do not inform you when they can not honor it. Do not fall for their "GUARANTEED DELIVERY" and find your self stuck in an empty home or apartment for two weeks and the only thing they can say is "this is not our problem".
