These are the worst movers ever!
They changed my pick up time five times and were eventually late. The movers they sent to pick up my things were rude and intimidating. They kept speaking in russian and were actually kind of scary people. They spent more time packing up my $30 Ikea Coffee Table than my $1000 plasma TV. When I hired the movers they stated 4-7 days for delivery, and we made our travel plans accordingly. The guys who picked up my things also said 4-7 days. Then I called the day after they picked up my things and they also said 4-7 days. It took 16 days. They kept postponing my date of delivery - it was delayed 3 times. They kept stating that the truck had broken down and required repairs (by a shop that only worked on Sunday?!). Then, the day of delivery, they said they were 20 miles away and the truck broke down again! So they were three hours late on the day of delivery. I called the police to be there as witness and as protection.
The moving company told me that my balance was about twice as much as the quoted price!! They said they were charging me based on cubic feet rather than weight - even though I agreed upon weight, and discussions about price were always directed towards a weight-based price. The cubic feet issue was never discussed! They only let me pay with US Postal Service money orders. So I ended up paying nearly double the quoted amount. At that point, I was just happy to have my possessions back with me.
The movers who actually showed up to my house to do the delivery were reasonable though. It was very odd that they were so different from the actual company (perhaps part of a scam to get you to not complain later). Luckily my TV was not broken, nor any of my other possessions.
Additionally, they have the AMSA and ProMover icons on their website, but when I called the AMSA, they said the company had been let go a long time ago. Also the arbitration company the claim to use called me back and was livid as well - they had never even heard of the company!!
Either way - NEVER hire these movers!! They are dishonest and unsavory in every way! Even though you offer you a very reasonable quote at the beginning, they end up charging you way more!! They are rude - Susan, the main contact person, has absolutely no customer service tact whatsoever. She is rude and insensitive. Not once did she offer me an apology for any of these problems and actually acted as though I was causing HER a problem.
Overall, this company should be shut down!!
