At first I was given vague time frames and promises by sales rep Karlos Stevenson. Rather than guaranteeing my requested pick-up and delivery dates, he kept telling me to wait until closer to the date of the move and finalize details with my 'quality assurance' representative. Immediately upon being assigned to Sean Boxer, I called and left voicemails daily for four days without having my calls answered or returned. I finally e-mailed both Karlos and Sean requesting to be transferred to another rep. Finally Sean called me back but still could not specify what date my goods would be picked up. Unfortunately, I was informed that if I cancelled my $988 deposit would not be refunded because I was canceling 4 business days (instead of the required 5 days), despite the fact that I was ignored for four days. Long story short, I had to move myself with a U-Haul (and tow my car) at the last minute, and the scam artists at Colonial Van Lines stole $988 from me. I may never get my money back, but if I can save one person from the nightmare I experienced, it's worth my time. PLEASE do not give one penny of your money or one second of your time to these people. Just rent a U-Haul; you'll have to anyway. Although Sean Boxer ignored me for four days and cost me $988, he was at least somewhat polite and apologetic. Karlos Stevenson, on the other hand, was extremely rude and unprofessional. You will notice that 95% of the reviews for Colonial are negative... I think they steal more deposits than they actually move people. I personally will pursue legal action against them. I hope others do the same.
