Our move started on a bad note with the movers arriving late and calling us 2 hours before the expected arrival time.At 7:30pm they finally showed up with a dingy small truck, started loading after 9:30pm and finished past midnight.Our tenants who were supposed to move in afte we left had to move their stuff before we moved out and had to spend the night in a hotel, at no fault of ours.The person by the name MAX from Direct Van lines is a person with no morals, and will go to any extent to tie the customer.He took the deposit from us and charged us for the accessories needed for the move which was not a part of the deal.He quoted us an X amont and when the movers arrived finally they had a quote 3 weeks old, with no updated info.They started charging us for things they earlier promised under the quote.They had promosed to pack my kitchen and on the day refused to do so saying that it was not in the quote.MAX is a total mis-communicator to the customers.He does not tell you the "fine printing" and we were caught with surprise.On top of that at the last minute we were told to remove stuff from our armoire and dresser which was so less to begin with and we were told to keep it inside.This left us frustrated and helpless.We were stuck with these guys since we had paid the deposit and it was impossible to get movers at the last minute for our out of state move.In the middle of the packing process the movers refused to load saying that there is insufficient space in the truck.That scared us.It started pouring in between the loading and they stopped working again..what a mess..
The truck arrived good 2 hours late after the promised time which added on to the anger and frustration.Anyways, it is over and we will never choose Direct Van lines again.Do not fall into the traps nd sweet talk of MAX, like we did.
Beware!!
After spending over 2 grand on the move, we felt as if we were left holding the bags.After our move we tried calling this MAX but he NEVER returned our calls.
Watch out for Direct Van lines!
