I was ALMOST taken by this set of criminals this past July. I had been working with a woman named Joe Taylor, who was extreamly persistant. Her emails and phone calls (up until two days before my scheduled pick up) were quick, informative and reassuring. I am a professional classical musician.....she even tried to connect with me by mentioning that she played violin. While I knew what her angle was by saying that, I just dismissed it as trying to make a connection with the customer. The first RED flag for me was the fact that she mentioned that they could not put the deposit through without me signing a permission form......minutes after I sent my credit card information, the charge was put through. I never did send them the signed permission form. I will pursuit getting the deposit back after researching the form and contacting the BBB about the specifics.
Another red flag was the fact that my quote kept rising expenetially with very small additions, in spite of some subtractions. Additionally, I was promised to receive a phone call from their dispatch person (I can just imagine.....it's probably someone in another bedroom of the private home they are running this scam company out of). The call never came. I called Joe to find out if I was on the list; this was the first time she seemed to be irritated by my questions. After many calls and emails, I finally received an email two days after my scheduled pick up time from someone stating that someone would call me about my pick up time.......no one ever called or showed up.
Before using Eco, I had done some research about this company and voiced my concern to Joe who just dismissed it as "bad blood" between competitors. For anyone considering Eco Van Criminals, do not trust the positive reviews on this site. They are bogus and written by the criminal employees. Carefully read them. The writing style is identical. Who writes about "falling in love" in a moving company review? Check the timeline......I am sure an employee's main job is to submit a review-a-day.
While I am very sorry so many people have been scammed and taken by these criminals, I am grateful to have only lost a small deposit rather than all my belongings to these wretched scammers.
