I FEEL CHEATED: NEVER USE THEM

I recently moved from Atlanta to Charlotte and used Economy Van Lines. The overall experience was REALLY BAD, let me describe it how. I took a quote from their representative and he gave me a quote of around $3200 with full packing ($800) and unpacking ($250) for 534 cubic feet. While estimating, I purposely kept more boxes and stuff. Everything was well, and the sales representatives promised me Mercedes services. They took a “2 day” window for pickup, and I asked for next day delivery and they agreed if I pay $250 more, and I agreed too. Everything was good till this time. A day before the 2 day window for pick, I got a call and was told that they will pickup the stuff next day. Well, the next day after a lot of calls with the RUDE talking representatives, I was told that they cannot pick it up that day, and will come next day. Every time I called that day, they told me they will call back in 15 mins and never called back. So my leave from work was gone waste and the other arrangements I made for my hotel stay and travel went for a toss. Still fine. Next day, pick up guys turn up and say that they normally take the onsite estimate and take more than the previous estimate, but if it is less, they will bill me on actual cubic feet used. The guy immediately jacked up the estimate from 534 to 734 cubic feet, and with that the price got raised considerably. Finally when they loaded the stuff in the truck, he told me it is around 750 cubic feet but he will still charge me 734, as if he was doing me a favor. How can volume increase if the actual stull was less than the initial estimate. As compared to the initial estimate, I did not use, 2 big wardrobe boxes, 1 large box, 7 small box and 1 vacuum cleaner, and without that the difference was more than 200 cubic feet more. And there was no way I can check the actual cubic feet. One more thing I missed to mention, in between the guy told me that he cannot deliver the next day (for which I was paying $250) and he will give me $125 discount for that... Really??? But I was adamant that I need it the next day and finally he agreed. Also, he made me fill the customer feedback form while pick up itself. When I told him I will do it when you deliver, he said it is done while picking up. I was fearful that they might damage my stuff, hence gave a good feedback. Well, it doesn't end here. Just to mention, I was promised that they will do full unpacking service and set up the house, and I was charged $250 for that. Next day these guys deliver, open up the furniture and leave the boxes and everything else as it is without even opening the boxes. When asked about it, they said they open up furniture only, everything else is my responsibility, and walked away. While unpacking myself, I found a few large boxes only 75% used, so just to increase the usage, they did not use the boxes properly too. In the end, I ended up paying almost $1000 more than the estimated price for less than estimated stuff, and did not even get the service that was promised. They even asked for tips shamelessly. I FEEL CHEATED.
