Express 1 Moving is honest, highly efficient and downright easy to work with! I had a storage unit in NY that I (foolishly) have been renting for 6 years. I knew that a couch, a love seat, a bike and a bunch of boxes were in it. I did not remember how many boxes, or what the sizes were. I figured if I can provide the size of the unit the movers can assume the worst and give me a price. I called the storage facility and asked the size of my unit, they told me the size. I then called Express 1 (and a bunch of other companies) and told them the size. The quotes I got ranged from $8,200 - $900. $900 is scary low and $8,200 sounded very expensive. THE ONLY COMPANY THAT URGED ME TO PROVIDE AN ITEMIZED LIST WAS EXPRESS 1 MOVING. The sales person explained that the quote will not be accurate based on the size of the unit unless every inch of space in the unit is full. She explained that it will be much better if I can have someone get into the unit and make a list of what I have. NOT ONE OTHER COMPANY EXPLAINED THIS TO ME!!! Other companies were much more concerned with me putting down a deposit now, and worrying about the final cost later. I was not about to go that route.
I reached out to a friend in NY who was able to get into my unit. He made a list of my items and I sent the list to the sales rep at Express 1. She quoted me a price, I agreed. We then scheduled a day for pick up, and a delivery window. This part was annoying because the window was big (something like 2 weeks). The rep then explained that the truck makes multiple stops from east to west- but she assured me that the planners at Express 1 moving will be calling me frequently to give me the trucks where abouts and will eventually tell me an exact date/time for arrival----and that the date/time will be within the window that was promised. Once again, the rep kept her word. They called three times within the course of 5-6 days. On the third call they told me exactly when the truck would arrive. The driver even called me when he was 45 minutes away!!! I thought that was particularly impressive, UPS should try that!
All of my items were in great condition. The price did not increase one penny. I highly recommend Express 1 Moving.
