First Call Movers (FCM) ARE NOT a moving company first of all and they have made my life miserable when all I needed was to move 2 pieces of furniture from NY to New Orleans. They never tell you they are not the moving company and they charge you for the sole thing of getting in touch with some random moving company close to your location. This means the company moving your things is totally random and you have no idea who they are. The moving company came late to pick up, extremely rude (I was abvout to call teh police), wanted to charge 2 flights up for a first floor pick up and have been unable to give me a delivery date. The final cost of the move has been 50% more than what was quoted by FCM, who obviously shield themselves in the "disclosure" part of the contract. Basically you pay them for NOTHING. And worse, the people in charge of moving your things are awful movers who you have no idea who they are.
It has made my life miserable and the whole thing terribly expensive. I wish I would have read other reviews first. Customer service over the phone has been horrible, a woman yelling at me over the phone and I could never again talk to the "nice" gentleman who sold me in to hire them. It's a TOTAL SCAM. What I thought was going to end up being cheaper than other quotes I had is now way more expensive. Awful experience. I will post this same review everywhere I can just to let people know and avoid going through what I've been through and being treated awfully over the phone. At this point, I don't know where my furniture is or when it will be delivered
