Damaged shipment, terrible customer service

Good points:
- Price was OK
- Movers were there on time
- Team was polite and helpful
Bad points:
- Everything they packed arrived destroyed or damaged
- They make the claim process extremly frustrating
- Forget customer service once you gave them your money
In detail:
The whole quoting process was pretty painless and that's what convinced me to use their service. Not the cheapest but not the most expensive either. The day of the move, everything went OK. I should have checked the way they packed furniture, lamps and everything they were suppose to take care of, because I had a pretty nasty surprise. Every single piece of furniture arrive scratched (we had bookshelves, tables, bed, ...). Since it is black furniture, it's pretty visible. Things that were not scratched were simply destroyed. I saw the truck that arrived in New York, and boxed with written Fragile on it were under really heavy other ones. I'll let you imagine the shape of the fragile stuff... They basically did a really sloppy job and weren't even apologetic about it.
I tried to file a claim, and they basically offered me $37... and I still had to to send a notarized letter back... Talk about customer service.
So, I wouldn't recommend Forward van lines. They're sloppy, hide behind a nice smile, and when this doesn't work anymore, they hide behind legal bs.
