Gellings Moving and Storage

I hired Gellings Moving and Storage to move my fathers things across country. The delivery destination was a storage facility. I was not told that moving items to a storage facility would release the moving company from any responsibility regarding lost or damaged items. The supervisor from Gellings that was on site the day of the move even sold me additional insurance so we would be sure that any lost or stolen items would be covered by the insurance. The items were delivered to the storage unit within the 2 week timeframe that was originally quoted. Once we started pulling things out of storage we discovered missing and damaged items. The parent company Atlas is only willing to cover the cost of the missing items. They are not willing to take responsibility for the damaged items. I was referred back to Gellings for assistance and was told by the person who answered the phone at Gellings they were not aware of a policy regarding deliveries to a storage facility. When I asked what they would do to help me I was provided no assistance. The person on the phone at Gellings proceeded to hang up on me multiple times and the company is not willing to take any responsibility for the lack of knowledge on behalf of their employees and are not willing to pay for the damaged goods.
