Like many other people, I wish I had read these reviews before hiring this company. They were terrible, and we never even actually got to see them move anything because they never showed. The company lied to us over and over again, telling us people were on the way on the day of our move but refusing to tell us when or where they would arrive. I should have known at 8:50, when the "driver" called to say he'd "been in an accident on the west side highway" but it was totally quiet in the background, that something was up. He told me he'd be at my apartment in 15 minutes. 50 minutes later, I called him and he said the Police were there and they had to fill out a police report, but would be leaving in 15 minutes. After 20 more minutes, I called the dispatcher and he told me he was "really sorry" and this "never happened." He said they would find out when our original crew was coming or get us another truck immediately, but then cut me off because the "driver was calling him." Conveniently, he called me back 2 minutes later to tell me that the driver "had to go to the hospital" because of internal injuries, which was curious because I'd spoken to the driver twice before and he never mentioned being even the slightest bit hurt, and no one seemed to recognize that if a driver was that badly injured from an accident the truck he was driving would probably be unusable for a move. I heard nothing more from the dispatcher regarding the movers until I called again 30 minutes later, when the movers were then over 2 hours late. The dispatch guy put me on the phone with Jane, who'd booked my reservation. She told me that the driver was busy "filling out a police report" and would be at my place by 3pm! I told her this was unacceptable, and asked her to clarify where the driver was, since I'd been told he was at the hospital. She then changed her story and said he was at the "police hospital" which I thought was a rather inventive lie to come up with on the spot, if a bit transparent. She then told me that a "higher power" had made the accident happen, and started to go into a long story about an accident she once had. I told her I was very sorry, but I needed to move and needed to know when the movers would be there, and if the driver was hurt it was there responsibiity to find another truck for me. She told me I had two options: 1) wait for them to come, or 2) have her call another company for me. I told her I picked the second option AND THEN SHE TOLD ME SHE WOULDN"T LET ME, even thought she'd been the one to offer it. After she got done feeding me another line about how she wanted to show me what good movers they were, she told me that I'd see some day, BECAUSE I WAS GOING TO GET INTO A CAR ACCIDENT SOME TIME SOON AND THEN ID UNDERSTAND. At this point I told her that I thought she was being totally ridiculous and unprofessional, not to mention inappropriate. While she promised me they'd get someone there "around 12:30" I never waited to find out. Instead we called Mountain Movers last minute, and they were fantastic. I cannot say it enough.
