Severe Damages and Missing Items

This company charged me $2,000 more than originally quoted. They explained that because furniture sizes vary, this can happen--understandable. However, when my items were delivered, many of our foldable items were not folded; they were completely open. I asked the company why this was so and they said that they were folded when loaded so it did not affect my rate. I asked why would they have unwrapped it after loading. This brings us to the next topic. Our items were severely-and I mean, severely damaged when we received them. We had a brand new dresser that the entire top was completely ruined and had trim pieces cracked off. I had rare, one of a kind items that I will never be able to replace, that had cracks in the wood. Our boxes were crushed, our safe had the plugs missing off the back and you could see where someone had tried to dig out the back and the metal was bowed out from someone trying to separate the back from the safe. There were just too many damages to list. The best part is when I notified the company, they did send me all the insurance forms, but when I contacted them back regarding how our furniture was packed to take up more space, I heard nothing. When I threatened to post reviews and contact federal agencies regarding their service, I received an email that they had been trying to contact me numerous times and that I had spoken to a manager the day before. Their idea of contacting me was actually calling me four times, back to back, while I was at work, with no voicemail (I had no clue who had actually called me), and I had never spoken to any manager, so James was completely lying. I was promised a call the next day, but James was tied up and he emailed me to call him. I then spoke to a manager, Alex, and he assured me that they would resolve this, even outside of the insurance, because their company did not operate this way. Well, that was two weeks ago and I have not heard a peep from them. I did have two back to back calls, again, while I was at work with no voicemail-I don't know if that was them or not, but I emailed them to ask that they leave a voicemail so I knew to call them back if that was in fact them and I haven't heard a word. Needless to say, I think this company cares very little for how they pack, load (or rather toss) people's furniture, and care even little for the so called care of people's items. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone and have already told numerous people about my experience. They try to make it sound like you are so important to them, but do very little to show that once they are paid.
