Horrible delivery company

This is the most unhonest, unreliable bunch of crooks any moving company can be. My 22 year old son was moving from LA to Bronx, NY. I chose them because they claimed they gave a $50 military discount and my son is a veteran from the Iraqi war. I trusted them, thinking they actually cared about their customers, but they were just putting on a show. My son lived in a studio apartment, so he had limited space for his possessions. They gave a resonable price. They swore it was not going to cost more than $1,100. Instead, we ended up paying $2,283.75 in total. My son was flying to NY the following day after the scheduled pick up date, which was April 27, 2012, and they knew this. When they got there they claimed there were more boxes than they expected and doubled the cost right then. He was told to use another company if he refused to pay that price. He was forced to sign another contract with the additional, exorbitant price of $2,083.75. They said the earliest date to be delivered was May 4, 2012. When the date came they didn't show up, nor did they attempt to contact us to let us know what was happening, and when we contacted them they said his possessions were still in LA. When they finally gave us the date set for May 14 to arrive, that date came and went without showing up. Once again we had to contact them later that evening to find out why they didn't show up. It turned out that they said their truck got into an accident and blamed it on us, saying their drivers estimated the wrong measurements of a bridge they went through (which was not anywhere near the entrance way to the residential area) and tore the roof of the truck. They had to take it to a repair shop and said they would rent a U-Haul and deliver it the next day, but we would have to pay for a "shuttle" truck. They said it would be delivered by 1:00 p.m. the following day. They didn't show up until 4:30 p.m., because they had delivered to another place first. Then they wouldn't remove the merchandise unless we paid that additional $300, since otherwise it would come out of their own pockets. I called Hercules and told them I didn't have that money and, out of the goodness of their hearts, decided to give us a discount and only charged an additioinal rip-off rate of $200 instead. If you ever want to get robbed, they're the ones to choose, because I can guarantee they will do it.
