I have had a bad experience with this company. Based on the good online reviews I saw, I chose Ideal Moving & Storage to move a few pieces of furniture and about 12 boxes from the upper West Side of Manhattan to Midtown Atlanta in mid- July. There were several problems along the way, but the worst thing is that they failed to deliver one of my boxes –(the one containing my original artwork). The men doing the move in Atlanta said that the box, being a different size than all the others, was probably missed when loading the truck and was still in Ideal’s warehouse in NYC. Otherwise, they said they had made only one prior delivery that day and may have delivered my box by mistake. I was told that Ideal would search its warehouse and contact the owner of the prior delivery. In either case, they said that Ideal would take immediate action to locate my box. It has now been over 6 weeks and I have gotten no answer. I don’t think that they made any effort to locate my missing box, since I only had the basic insurance which is $.60 per pound. At least, they should let me know that they searched their warehouse and called the owner where the truck made the one prior delivery. Although Ideal may think that the small amount per pound they have to pay me for my lost box does not make it worth their while to diligently try to locate it, this review may cause potential customers to choose another moving company.
