HAD TO CALL THE COPS WHEN THEY THREATENED MY SAFETY!!!

Upon arrival, the truck was far too large to park on our street, so they had to park around the corner on a dark street with no lighting. They also charged us an extra $150 for 2 additional stairs, despite the fact that we had already stated that there were stairs in the original agreement. There were only 2 movers, making this a very difficult job given that we had multiple large pieces of furniture, requiring multiple movers. They also demanded cash, in advance, before they would move any items., and were extremely rude right from the beginning. The first box that was unloaded from the truck said, “Fragile, Glass” and was dropped over 4 feet to the ground by Tommy, the head mover. Frederik watched this happen from the sidewalk, and asked that they treat the remainder of our boxes with more respect. They continued to drop boxes out of the truck and stack boxes that were entirely too heavy to stack upon lighter items. You can see from the pictures, just how damaged these boxes became. I personally asked Tommy and his colleague, an African American gentleman whose name I did not catch, to stop stacking our fragile items on top of one another. The gentleman simply looked me in the eye and did it again. When I removed the items and asked them to stop treating our belongings with such cruelty the African American gentleman said, “ I may respect some Bitches, but Bitches like you I can never respect.” I have witnesses who overheard him say this to me who would be glad to testify in court if needed. This pushed the situation over the line, and I told them that they were not allowed to set foot in my house until I was able to speak to a manager. That is when Tommy threatened me by saying, “Your life will be short.” I felt as if my life was being threatened at this point, and I felt completely unsafe in the company of the Infinity Movers. I also have witnesses who heard this threat. At that point I called the Police. The Police Report # is attached. When the Police arrived I explained the situation, and they facilitated the move as watchmen looking over the situation, while Tommy was finally allowed back into my apartment with new men who came to help finish the job. I felt threatened, and completely frightened by these two individuals, and only allowed them to enter my home with Police supervision. This is when we began to notice how badly damaged the majority of our belongings had become. I have attached a full inventory sheet of what was broken, and the value for each item. It was absolutely horrendous. Boxes were misshapen with puncture holes, rips and tears down the side and red blood looking substances poured all over and inside several of the larger boxes. Lamps were bent in half, lamp shades completely crumpled, chairs in pieces, red stains on upholstery, chest of drawers completed cracked down the middle, china broken in two, picture frames destroyed, appliances ripped apart … The list goes on and on. I have moved 19 times in my life, and I have never seen anything as deplorable as this. Furthermore, I have never been treated with such immense disrespect from individuals whom I have paid to perform a service, and paid well at that. Frederik and I fully intend to fight this case with legal action should we not be compensated in full for our losses and damages.
