We contracted with them and asked for a binding estimate. They gave us one by increasing the cost per pound. We told them we had 13,000 pounds, roughly. The day of the pickup they showed up at my 3100 square foot home with a rented 24 foot Enterprise box truck and were baffled when I said that this was too small for a 13,000 pound pickup. They came in and surveyed the home furnishing and said they were told it was 10,000 pounds. The paper work stated 13,000 pounds so not sure where this was coming from. They got on the phone with their dispatch person (Ben the owner) and were able to order a second Enterprise rent a truck. Now that there are two trucks, one there and one on its way, the Forman sat down and said lets do the paperwork and guess what, the cost went up almost $2000. I said we have a binding contract and he said they do not have them and I was wrong. He wanted to estimate the weight and I said “no way, we would only pay true weight” so we rewrote the contact because I knew they guys were making me feel dirty. While packing the truck with our boxes, as we packed our selves, they started using several of my boxes for extra packing and tried to charge us for boxes, thank goodness I was paying attention. Once the house was loaded they asked me what day I would like it delivered and I told them not before 5 days, they said no problem. Also, I asked for the truck weight tickets and they said they did not have to give them to me, I did take a picture with my photo, thank goodness I did that, see why later. After arriving in the new city the delivery day came and went with excuses as to why and they pointed out that they had 14 business days as stated in the contract. I look again and yes it did, read it carefully. When it did come, almost 3 weeks later, they showed up and gave me weight tickets that did not match the original ones. I told the driver (Ben the owner) that they were not the right ones and what is going on. He seemed anode that I had a picture but what could he do. He had to now reweigh before unloading. Once unloading started it was clear they were unloading a ton of someone else’s property (almost ¼ of the truck) at my house, thank goodness I was paying attention. After the truck was unloaded they had to reweigh it and thank god because they now owed me a refund on over payment. Don’t trust them with weight. While unloading they dropped my plasma TV, a box of china, dented our master bed head board and broke my son’s brand new bed head board. They explained it was our packing and not they people. Not sure how our packing has anything to do with them dropping items like TVs, China, etc in front of us but that will be a fight I think. Let me tell you about their people. The drive (Ben) showed up with a helper who told me he was a 2 time felon looking at his third strike in CA. The other three people were picked up at Home Depot, according to the official helper, on there way to my house and only one of them spoke English. While on a break one of them was talking about being a felon in Mexico. I speak a little Spanish so I asked him what he was talking about and he told me that “he was a felon in Mexico for robbery and aggravated assault and escaped to the US before prison”. These are the types of people they have in your home and around your family. Do not use Jet Van Lines, go elsewhere because the phone price will not be the same you pay, they use day laborers so they have no idea who they are, they use felons around your family, they break your property and blame it on you rather then the dropping of their day laborers.
