Don’t believe Max or whoever your contact is for King Van Lines! He will be your best friend when he is trying to get your business, but after you pay if there are any complaints or concerns he won’t answer your calls. Kings Van lines is a broker and even though I thought they were moving my furniture, it turned out to be Meyers Moving. The driver for Meyers was intimidating and obnoxious. They moved my furniture from El Paso TX to Oregon City Oregon. They arrived at 4:00 P.M. which was too late to do much anyway and then determined they couldn’t pull the 18 wheeler into my drive. I had to pay another $1,100.00 so they could transfer my furniture into a smaller truck and come back. This was on a Sunday. I have no idea what they did on Monday. Tuesday, they arrived at my home at 1:30 P.M. which did not give them enough time to unload take the truck back load it up again, bring it to my house and unload the second load with any kind of care. Although for what I paid, you would have thought they could have got 2 trucks. Everything was rush, rush, rush. At 7:00 P.M. I was told I had to initial that everything was unloaded, because the driver had to go get his truck before it was locked in the rental truck place. I didn’t have a chance to check anything. When I asked about putting the shelves in my hutch and display cases, I was told I would want to do that myself especially since the driver needed to go! I was told to initial that the inventory was there and exhausted from dealing with the driver’s attitude I signed. After they left, I found a large triangle of smoked glass from my dinning room table lying in the driveway. I found the rest of the glass out of the wrapping leaning against a wall. They knew they broke it, but never said a word. I also found all the packaging and shrink wrap in a huge pile on the side of my driveway. I paid $10,000.00 for the move and then the extra $1,100.00. I certainly didn’t get the service I paid for and no attempt has been made to address my complaints. I will now have to hire some one to clean up the mess, help me assemble my shelves and then see if I can replace the glass they broke.
