We had booked another company months in advance but they fell through at the last minute. I had been speaking with Bill at Mainline as well and contacted him back. I explained my situation and told him that I needed my stuff delivered to my new destination by Sept. 8th or 9th. (It was Aug.31 at the time of this call.) He told me they could do that for me but there would be and extra $700 for an exclusive truck. I was told that this truck would pick up my stuff and drive straight through to my destination. He confirmed (verbally) that it would be delivered by no later than the ninth of Sept. So, trusting in him we gave our first credit card payment. My family of 4 children (3 of which were toddlers), myself (being 5 months pregnant) and my husband would be flying to New York with only what we could fit in our suitcases. Knowing we might have to spend one night without our things. Our first shipment arrived about two weeks after we had arrived. During which time we had to make other accommodations. I had made several phone calls to the company. It seemed every other time that I called they would switch me to another person to help me. We were told our truck had broken down in Chicago and was stuck there getting repairs done. Finally I was extreamly upset and called again (this was after our truck had supposedly been broken down for 5 days). I spoke with Leon and was very irrate. Leon told me that my truck was not broken down but our stuff was still at our original destination in a storage unit. With me being pregnant and trying to make things work with only what we had in our suitcases for 4 children you can bet I was pretty upset. I told them I felt like I had to contact the Better Business Bureau just to get my stuff. Leon then told me that he "knew customers like me" and that if I was going to threaten him he would call our truckers and have them stop where they were on the road. I was speechless! I felt like I was being held hostage with my own belongings. My husband told me just to be as calm as possible until our stuff arrived just to make sure we get it in good condition. When the first load arrived only half of it was there. They told us that it was more than half but by the time we received our second load we found out that it was much less than half. It took them over a month to get us the rest of our things. A lot of my husbands things that he needed for work were damaged or completely broken. One of the truckers had told us that when they arrived to take over driving at least one mattress was strapped to the top of the truck. We were told lie after lie (too many to go into here). In the end we ended up paying over $2000 more than what our original quote was for. Customer service was the worst I'd ever had to deal with. I don't see how a company like this can be allowed to stay in business. They demand on pick-up that you pay cash but they will take a money order if they have to. It was the worst experience I have ever had with any company in all my life. I hope that no one else has to ever have the experience we had. Our stuff was picked up Sept. 2nd and we received our final load on Oct. 26th!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! THEY NEED TO BE PUT OUT OF BUSINESS!!!
